Pakistan’s Journey in Asian Volleyball Championship

At the beginning of the Tournament, Pakistan was grouped with South Korea, Indonesia, and Kuwait. The Green Team finished the Group at 2nd Position following South Korea who defeated us while Pakistan manages to win over Kuwait and Indonesia.

However, in the Classification Round, Pakistan was then asked to beat South Korea, Japan, and Chinese Taipei. They lost all three Matches. Even Arch-Rivals India couldn’t win any of their Classification Match. So, both battled for Seventh and Eighth Position.

However, Pakistan Made the dominant Start by winning the 1st two games 25-23 and 25-21. However, India made a strong comeback taking the next two sets 25-20 and 25-19. In the final set, Pakistan Surged ahead and won it 15-6. Pakistan beat India in Asian Volleyball Championship Match to bag 7th Position

Pakistan played an outstanding game against India. Aimal Khan was Ferociously Attacking India’s defense throughout the game. Meanwhile, Mubashir put up a fine defense in the game, winning points for the team at Crucial Moments. Unfortunately, Pakistan lost in the Quarters against one of the Giant Teams of the Event, Australia.

Ch. Mohammad Yaqoob, Chairman PVF said that Pakistan lost against Australia by a Little Margin and this is very Encouraging for team’s Morale. Also, the victory against India was worth it taking into consideration of recent escalation between the neighbors.

However, Aimal Khan approached by many Countries to play for their respective leagues. According to Yaqoob, he is offered Rs. 7 to 8 Million to play in the Leagues. Many other Pakistani Volleyball Players are also Playing for International Leagues Across the Globe.
