Shoaib Malik retires from ODI Cricket Following Victory against Bangladesh
Shoaib Malik has finally announced retirement from ODIs following Pakistan’s victory over Bangladesh. Green shirts failed to make into the semi-finals despite their four consecutive victories. Shoaib had intended to quit One-Day Internationals right after the World Cup and he followed it through the plan. Shoaib Malik retires from ODI Cricket- Farewell Messages from Cricketers and Celebrities poured on his wonderful career.
Former Captain, Malik, made his debut in One Day Internationals against West Indies in 1999. Since then, he has represented Pakistan in 287 matches, scoring 7,534 runs. He was an incredible off-spin bowler who took 158 wickets.

Shoaib Malik led Pakistan to the final of inaugural ICC Men’s t20 World Cup in 2007. He was a key member of Pakistan’s victorious campaign in the T20 World Cup 2009. Malik was the only senior player in Pakistan’s Champions League winning edition against India in 2016. His last appearance came against arch-rivals India in Manchester.
Malik confirmed his retirement Twitter following the Game against Bangladesh.
“Today I retire from One Day International cricket. Huge thank you to all the players I have played with, coaches I have trained under, family, friends, media, and sponsors. Most importantly my fans, I love you all, #PakistanZindabad,” Malik tweeted.
